ARMENIA — Five Traditional Dishes

Ottoman and Persian food has an influence yet Armenian traditional meals manage to stand apart from neighbours Anatolia, the trans-Caucasus and Iran. Meat is the centre of Armenia food, aubergines, rice and yoghurt not far behind. Khorovats, barbecued chunks of beef, chicken, fish, lamb or pork with aubergines, peppers and tomatoes, is served with lavish, a thin flatbread.
