Once apon a time a choir singer called Goga in the Belarussan city of Mogilev lost his voice. A friend suggested raw eggs, sugar and wine for the remedy. It caught on and became known as gogel mogel. Over time it relieved inflammation in the young who ate it as a sweet dessert and energised the old who drank it as a sweet liquour.
60 ml brandy / rum / vodka (optional) Cocoa, pinch 90 g light brown sugar 4 egg yolks 15 g chocolate (optional) Nutmeg, pinch (optional) Vanilla seeds, pinch (optional)
Beat the yolks into a thick cream, whip in the sugar and enrich as needed.
